Latest Wedding Trends for 2019

Every year wedding trends change. Sometimes they evolve, taking last years new idea to another level. Other times they do a complete turnaround. This year we are seeing edgy, modern designs, mixed with vintage ideas for a whole new look.

Venue

This year the ballroom venue is at the top of the list. Whether it is a ballroom venue at home, or a ballroom at a destination wedding location, chic, glamorous, and beautiful is the trend. Of course, there will always be weddings on the beach and other outdoor locations like vineyards and mountains.

Bridal gowns

The royal wedding has been a big influence on the wedding industry. Experts at Azazie advise that princess gowns are trending right now as well as satin, body-hugging shifts. Mermaid gowns are being designed with oversize flare at the hem of the gown. Azazie is the leading online shop for bridesmaids dresses. You will see bridesmaids in cooler tones. Metallic fabric is holding on, and you will see a lot of bridesmaids dressed in gold. Gold fabric with overlays of lace is in big demand for brides and bridesmaids. Bridal parties who are leaning toward the cocktail dress are wearing tea length. If the bride wears tea length, expect to see bridesmaids dresses to be a bit shorter.

Veils are either omitted or arranged with a tiara. Hair is worn free and natural. You will see a lot of cascading curls and the messy bun is back.

Nail fun

This year weddings are paying a lot of attention to nail art. While nails have always been important, never before has there been so many options. Look for these designs:

  • White nails with a splash of metallic gold
  • Nude nails with small crystals around the top of the nail
  • Black nails with gentle flowers and leaves
  • Pale pink with ring finger bling
    • Abstract designs
    • Floral or stripes
    • Glitter trim
    • Crystals
  • Nails are being worn longer and coffin shape is a popular choice

Reception

While you are seeing bridesmaids in edgy fashions, the reception dinner will be a step back in time. Vintage dinnerware and full place setting with deep greenery and cool flower tones grace the tables. Place settings are handwritten and displayed on the tables. Crystal chandeliers and candle holders are used for indoor venues. Outdoor venues will decorate the invisible ceilings with drapes of white twinkle lights.

Flowers

Bouquets are featuring more greenery, but it is toned down a lot from last year. The bouquets are easier to handle. Instead of traditional roses, brides are looking at Lily of the Valleys, or single flower blooms. A second trend is a single type of flower instead of a mixture of flowers.

Brides have plenty to look forward to this year. This is the year for classic beauty. Understated and chic wedding arrangements will be everywhere you look. There is little doubt that 2019 will be a year that experts will refer back to for some time to come.

5 Beauty Benefits You Can Get From CBD Oil

Are you struggling with breakouts, black spots, or acne? Have you tried using a full range of beauty products but your pimples just got even worse? Maybe the problem lies with your skincare routine or wrong choice of beauty products and brands. But mostly, this is because of genetics and biology.

Healthy skin is the key to looking beautiful and young, no matter your age or skin type. As one reaches adolescence, pimples start to buildup. Although it is a normal part of puberty, there are ways to prevent the substantial growth of acne.

Most teenagers suffer from acne problems such as whiteheads, blackheads, and bigger and reddish pimples known as papules and pustules. If not treated right away with proper medication, mild acne can get extremely severe, and along with its growth is the disappearance of your self-esteem. When this happens, pimples are not just likely to leave scars and marks on your face but it can impact your confidence and the way you see yourself.

According to science, acne forms through clogged-up pores caused by trapped dead skin and oil buildup. When this clog gets infected by bacteria, it then results to a breakout of pimples. Although there are branded facial wash and soap which are said to effectively treat acne if suitable to skin type, early prevention with the use of natural skin care products are much more preferable and advisable.

Among the cutting-edge beauty products that is rising in popularity right now is Cannabidiol or more commonly known as CBD oil. CBD Oil is extracted from the hemp plant. This cannabis-derived ingredient is not just crammed full of compounds that are proven to help treat medical conditions but is also rich with beauty benefits. Social enterprise companies such as CBD Oiled believe in the benefits of CBD oil so much, they have proposed to give 51% of their profits to medical hemp organisations and research.

5 beauty benefits you can get from cbd oil

Here you can find 6 Beauty Benefits You Can Get From Cannabidiol or CBD Oil. After reading this, you may be convinced to add this naturally-made beauty product to your daily skincare routine.

  1. Hair growth

According to research, Cannabidiol is filled with vitamins A and C. These nutrients help keep your hair healthy and radiant. If you are experiencing hair loss, Cannabidiol can help grow your hair fast with its vitamin A compound that is certainly beneficial in the production of tissue in the body. On the other hand, vitamin C enables the body to easily absorb iron and stimulates collagen production which is important in growing your hair and maintaining its firm structure.

  1. Glowing skin

Having healthy skin can make you look younger than your actual age. Vitamin E, which is another essential nutrient that can be found in Cannabidiol, is known to help maintain healthy and glowing skin appearance with its powerful antioxidant compound. It helps fight free radicals and lessen the UV damage to the skin. Typically, as we get older, the level of Vitamin E in our body starts to drop which can make our skin appear older and dry. This often leads to the visible sign of ageing such as wrinkles. With Cannabidiol that is opulent with E vitamin, you sure can keep your skin look youthful.

  1. Acne Treatment

Acne is a major problem which most teens and even adults are experiencing. Sometimes, pimples and the cyst-like pumps seem fun to pop out so we could get rid of them in an instant. But popping out your acne will do you no good, and worse, it might just lead to severe infection.

One of the main causes of acne is the overproduction of sebum. People with skin glands that produce an excessive amount of sebum usually suffer from acne problem. But you can now prevent pimples from ruining the radiance of your skin with now a budding beauty trend known as CBD oil. This hemp-derived ingredient can be either used in a topical form such as through cream or lotion or through ingesting it in products like tinctures. With the anti-inflammatory properties of Cannabidiol, inflammation of the plugged hair follicles that are filled with oil and bacteria is reduced which is usually the root of whiteheads, blackheads, and other forms of pimples.

  1. Prevention and Cure of Skin Disease

Not just helpful in treating acne but Cannabidiol is proven to have been effective in treating other skin diseases such as Eczema and Psoriasis. These skin conditions, although may not be seriously perilous as any other ailments, could somehow affect one's mental and physical well being. The flaky spots and patches can cause one to lose self-esteem.

If you are suffering from any of these conditions, CBD oil or CBD Drops can help improve your skin appearance and relieve the itchy and painful sensation. In this case, you are advised to use CBD that can be in creams, moisturizers, and serums to directly treat the area affected.

  1. Healthy Diet

Another great factor in achieving beauty and wellness is maintaining a healthy diet. People who suffer from obesity are prone to depression and anxiety. There are cases of those who opted to undergo surgery only to get rid of their unnecessary fats that trigger their insecurity.

According to a study, Cannabidiol can be a perfect remedy for weight loss. Apart from keeping a balanced diet, taking CBD oil can do as much good to your body as it helps regulate blood sugar and breakdown fats. It has been proven safe for use with its all natural-contents. Unlike other dietary supplements, Cannabidiol has no side effects that may be harmful to one's physical and mental health. With proper food intake, regular exercise, and CBD oil, you sure can easily achieve your desired body weight.

When you hear Valentine’s, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? - That’s right: full kissable lips. Therefore, don’t be afraid to give red lipstick a chance even if it’s not your go - to lip color. It’s a great way to draw attention to your lips and spice up your usual makeup look. It’s also important to choose the “ right red” Keep in mind that blood red works best for brunettes, while a shade that is closer to pink is perfect for blondes.

Eyes Makeup

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s without a little sparkle. That’s why we recommend to swap your usual mat eyeshadow palette and have a little fun with shimmers. Particularly for Valentine’s day a blush pink color would be perfect. This color will bring out your eyes, without it being “ too much”. For a more dramatic effect use the white pencil in the inner corner of your eye to add more depth.

To underline and bring out your eyes even more wing it out with an eyeliner.

Face Makeup

Light foundation and a little bit of highlighting is just enough. The foundation will even out your skin tone while the highlighter will give you that golden glow. You can add a touch of blush,  but don’t over do it. It’s best do focus on the lips and the eyes.

Nails

There is really no right or wrong when choosing your nail polish. For Valentine’s Day, however any warm  color would work: red, pink, orange take your pick.

The ordinary skincare review – Liz Earle, Kiehls and Bare mineral

To all those beauties out there, what do we women do best? We fix each other's crowns to make us feel good about ourselves.

So I'm a massive beauty addict (a makeup artist by trade based in Berkshire/ London) and here's my blog on my favourite ordinary skincare products review I just can't live without.

Before I launch into what I like, I want to give you a bit of background about the difficulties I have faced and how, through regular attention to my skin, my confidence grew.

When I was a teenager I had acne...acne...acne; as a teenager, this was the worst possible thing ever. At the time I had no confidence as you feel as if everyone's looking at your skin, judging you, which makes you think so self-conscience. When you're a teenager with this sort of problem, you just want to cover up you and are lost as you don't really understand the knowledge of a skincare routine. To speed up the process of clearing out my make my spots clear quicker I used to have a bad habit of picking them, which I would not recommend to anyone as your not only building bacteria on the skin but are highly likely to be left with scarring on the skin.

In my late teenage years and early '20s, I started experimenting with cleansers, toners and spot treatments; this is where my skincare journey started, and today I have a skincare regime that I do every day. When you're a teenager starting out with skincare, we tend to go for the cheapest option which at the time we think will be our saviour. But it's not.

I found that cheap skincare my skin would only look good for a week, and then It would be back at square one; if not worse off.

After experimenting for a while, I have got a perfect skincare routine that I feel works for my skin using all naturally derived products. I'm a massive fan of double cleansing, for me, I believe it thoroughly cleanses the skin preparing the surface for the rest of skincare regime to work. As sometimes we might cleanse our skin once and think our face is clean, but there always can be traces of makeup left on the skin that will slowly start to clog the pores and slow down the process of our skincare working.

the ordinary skincare review Liz Earle

1. Liz Earle Hot polish cleanser

My first skincare product is the Liz Earle Hot polish cleanser, a beautiful creamy cleanser that removes all traces of makeup while gently exfoliating the skin which leaves the skin glowing and hydrated.

2. Bare Minerals clay chameleon

The second cleanser I use is Bare MineAfter cleansing it is essential to use a good serum that penetrates into the skin. As such, I recommend Bare Minerals skin longevity serum. This lightweight textured serum works on the surface to hydrate and brightens the clarity of skin.

3. Kiehl's midnight recovery serum

The last product I like to finish off my skincare regime off with is Kiehl's midnight recovery serum. This facial oil helps to even out skin tone, brighten and fade acne scarring and prevents further breakouts.

This is my skincare I use every day to give me the skin I want and allows my makeup application to be flawless.

If I could offer one piece of advice to you all is to invest in some good skincare and ditch the facial wipes as this will not only make your skin feel good, but the rest of you will feel good too.

Lots of love my beauties x

How to get Healthy, Strong Nails

Hey there everyone, before I get started I just want to say a big thank you to the lovely Jessica for inviting me to guest post on her blog. It’s been an awfully long time since I’ve guest posted, so this is a fun break in routine! If you would like to know How to get Healthy, Strong Nails - keep on reading!

Maybe I should start with a little bit of background as to who I am, and why you should even consider taking nail care tips from me. Well firstly I can tell you that I’m not a qualified nail tech, I’d love to be, but I know that along with doing people’s fingernails, you also have to look after people’s toenails...and well, I just don’t think I could do it. Toes creep me out. It’s no secret!

I used to be an acrylic nail wearer, then moving on with the times started wearing Shellac. Both of which didn’t do my natural nails any good, but I was far too impatient to wait for them to grow, and also I was a nail-biter. I know, I know, gross right?! Wearing an armour of acrylic or Shellac stopped me from being able to chomp on the nubs.

Moving into our own home and having a mortgage to consider, I knew I had to make some sacrifices, priorities and the joys of becoming an adult haha! So the trips to the nail salon stopped, and my interest in looking after my natural nails grew. This was about 3 years ago now. Over these 3 years, I have perfected my nail care routine, I know what works and what doesn’t work and I’d love to share some of my top tips with you today. I must be doing something right as I have had the absolute pleasure of working with some of the best nail brands such as Leighton Denny, Nails Inc and Barry M since starting up my very own blog - Polished by Leanne

But that’s enough about me, let’s get into this post already...

How to get Healthy, Strong Nails

6 Top Tips for Perfect Nails

1) Use a cuticle oil

You don’t have to spend a lot, and it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but using a cuticle oil will really help the condition of your nails, cuticles, and surrounding skin. There is a huge variety of different oils, some with fun and funky scents, there’s no excuse to not be using one! I can recommend 3 that I love to use, Leighton Denny’s Slick Tips, Cienna Rose’s Elixir, and if you’re on a budget, pop onto Amazon and pick up a bottle of Pure Vitamin E and a bottle of Jojoba Oil - mix them together in a bottle or nail pen (can also be found on Amazon) to create the perfect cuticle and nail oil.

2) Swap out your emery board for a crystal nail file

It is well worth investing in a crystal nail file. It will last you for years on end, a simple rinse under the tap when you feel like it needs a clean and it’s as good as new. Unlike regular emery boards (I actually shudder at the thought of them now!), a crystal nail file will allow you to file backwards and forwards without the fear of tearing or damaging your nail tips. This means you can get a nice clean shape in the easiest and healthiest way.

3) Avoid cutting your cuticles

I know a lot of nail salons will do this, but honestly people, cutting your cuticles is a big no-no. There are so many great alternatives out there, nail and cuticle scrubs, cuticle dissolvers, you could even take a rubber orange stick and push them gently back after applying your cuticle oil. Remember - healthy cuticles lead to healthy nails. Just saying!

4) Try to keep your hands out of water for long periods of time

Long soaks in the bath, washing up, anything that requires your nails to be submerged under water for a lengthy amount of time will weaken them. I love a long, hot relaxing bath, but I’m always conscious of keeping the nails above water. I also make the husband do the dishes - I don’t ask much of him I promise - he agrees that it’s a fair deal!

5) Keep your nails polished

It is not often you will catch me without nail polish on. It helps to protect the nail, so pop on a base coat, two coats of your chosen colour, and finish off with a top coat and cuticle oil. Good to go! If you feel like your nails are feeling a little weak, using a glitter polish helps to fortify and prevent breaking.

6) Avoid Acetone

Admittedly as a nail blogger/ swatcher, a life without acetone just wouldn’t work for me, it makes life far too easy. But I always remember to put the moisture back into my nails and hands after using it, as it completely saps them dry. If you switch to non-acetone polish removers your nails and skin will thank you for it.

So there we are, I could go on and on but I don’t think you’d thank me for it! I feel like introducing these 6 small changes to your routine will do your overall nail health the world of good.

I hope that this post has been helpful to you, even if you’ve only picked up a couple of new tips. If you’d like to see more of what I get up to with both nails and beauty, please come and find me on Instagram: @polishedbyleanne, Facebook: polishedbyleanne, and of course the blog polishedbyleanne.com

Thank you so much for reading, have a wonderful day/night/week! Love, Leanne Xx

Pink Gellac Reviews: Starter Kit

Hey, Bella’s, do you know that feeling when Christmas is nearby, and you can’t wait to open all your presents? Well, Christmas came early for me. I received a free gel polish starter kit in the mail from a brand called Pink Gellac. If you’re a nail blogger and on a tight budget like me, you would know that drilling feeling of opening a big box with free nail products to try out.

So who is Pink Gellac?

If you have been reading my posts, you would know that I am based in the UK. And I’ve never heard of a nail brand called Pink Gellac, honestly, it reminds me of Gellux, which their packaging looks similar. Before playing around with their products, I did some digging on the internet. I noticed that they are trendy in some parts of Europe like the Netherlands, Spain and a few other countries and they just launched their products in the UK which reveals why it's new to me.

Pink Gellac products are for anyone who wants to skip the salon and paint their nails at home.  Yes, you don't need to be a professional nail artist to purchase these products. But I think you need to have some basic knowledge on how their nail products work to prevent damaging your nails and to make your manicure gel polish last for two weeks.

If you purchase these products. please be thorough when reading the instructions manual that comes with the starter kit. Ideally, if you visit their website, you’ll have access to their free online courses on how to use their products. If you want more information on what gel polishes are, click here.

(Before diving into the reviewing part, I want to say, I’m entirely honest when it comes to reviewing any nail product and that these are my honest opinions.)

What is in the Pink Gellac starter kit?

  • UV/LED Lamp
  • 4 Gel Polish Colors
  • Basecoat
  • Top Coat
  • Primer
  • File
  • Orange stick
  • Gel Removal pads

Pink Gellac Reviews & Swatches

Let’s start with the Gel Polish swatches; I also received their little LED/UV lamp which comes in handy for travelling. If you want to know what an LED/UV Lamp is, and what it is used for, click here.

Gel Polish: Pink Gellac 182 Dynamic Red

Pink Gellac Reviews Lipstick Red

This has a bright, warm red shade to it, and it’s perfect for Valentine's, going on a date, or if you’re feeling a bit sassy, ha-ha. When it came to the application part, the first layer had full coverage, and it was surprisingly pigmented. Unlike the Bluesky’s pastel collection colors. It’s mysterious that the gel wasn’t too thick or too thin (watery).

Interesting enough, it was simple to apply, and I didn't need to move too much of the product with the brush to cover the entire nail plate, and guess what?! No freakin’ SHRINKING!!!

Gel Polish: Pink Gellac 166 Vintage Nude

Pink Gellac Review Vintage Nude

This is my favourite shade out of the four gel polish colours. I dig natural light colours; I guess it just matches with my skin complexion plus my wardrobe doesn't have a variety of different colours.  You can never go wrong with nude shades anyway; it goes with any style, any outfits and any occasion, win-win right! It is a beautiful colour; it has a bit of pink in it but still has the nude side.

Undeniably, this shade is lighter than the others colours. The first coat wasn’t so pigmented which is expected, but after applying the 2nd coat, Wow! It gave it full coverage.  I find light shades a bit tricky to work with since you must be cautious of how much product you apply on the nails as there will be parts that will have some bare patches. I guess that's why for each coat you apply thinly, making sure it's not uneven. I was okay with using this color, it just needed two coats of colour, and again, this colour did not shrink after curing it under the lamp.

Gel Polish: Pink Gellac 182 Dynamic Pink

Pink Gellac Reviews Dymanic Pink

Its dynamic alright ha-ha, this colour reminds me of sweet candy like m&m's, Yum! This shade is very bright, one coat of this colour = full coverage. It applied like a dream.

Gel Polish: Pink Gellac 120 Beautiful Black

Pink Gellac Reviews - Beautiful Black

This beautiful black wasn’t the same in coverage as the other colours though, I applied the first coat, and I could see through my nail plate like it looked transparency in a way but after the 2nd coat, it had that full coverage.

Pink Gellac UV/LED Lamp Reviews

Pink Gellac LED/UV Lamp Review

Moving to their UV/LED Lamp, it’s a bit tiny and perfect for travelling but there are a few things I disliked about it, and this is just me being straight. Only 4 of my fingers could fit in the lamp, so I had to cure my thumb last. Yes, it’s cute, tiny, and light and it does its job, but I prefer that the lamp was a bit wider so that all 5 of my fingers would fit and cure all my nails at once.

Additionally, there’s no timer on it which is a bit frustrating, I had to use my phone as a timer, but what I found out was when you hear a beeping sound it means 30 secs, and once the light switches off, it means 60 secs. I think it would have been useful if came with a timer on it.

Two things really annoyed me; the first thing was the loud, weird beeping sound. It gave me a bit of a scare a few times, and it sounds like those life machines they have in the hospital, and the 2nd thing was the fact that I couldn’t stop the Lamplight without switching it off completely.

I really like their gel polish just like they described it on their website. If I were to compare Pink Gellac with gel II though, I would definitely choose Pink Gellac. Gel II is tricky to work with in my experience.  The UV/LED lamp, It’s a thumbs down for me. If it were up to me, I would have a timer installed, and make it a bit wider, so all five fingers can cure at the same time. Also, a softer and better beeping tone would have been better.

Pink Gellac Reviews

Hope my beautiful readers enjoyed my review and swatch of the Pink Gellac gel polish starter kit. If you want to purchase any of their products including their starter kit, click here, they have a variety of colours to choose, and the price range is not to bad.

Thanks for reading Bella's!
