Celebrity Makeup Transformation: Kim Kardashian, JLo & Taylor Swift

I want to take you all back to 2016, in 2016, So, I tried out Youtube,  Yep! I only did two videos though and never did anymore because of time, place and not having a powerful laptop to edit the videos. So in this post, I will be chatting about my first ever youtube video which was about "Celebrity makeup transformation on Kim, JLo and Taylor Swift".

Since this video was my very first, I didn't have a single clue on what I was doing; I didn't have the perfect lighting, angle, setting, and plan. So, please excuse the quality haha.

This makeup video wasn't a transformation to look exactly like the three celebrities though but more to show you all on the makeup techniques of the similar makeup they wear. But anyway like I said it was my first youtube video, and yes, I was super scared and shy as you will see there's no talking haha

So, let's talk about whats going on in the video.

Kim Kardashian Makeup Transformation

Kim Kardashian Makeup is known for her great contour and concealer look.  On the video, I show the parts where to contour and conceal. I first apply foundation, covering my entire face and my neck. I take my contour powder by sleek makeup and contour my cheekbones, side of my forehead and jawline. Make sure the Makeup is thoroughly blended. Next, I take my concealer and apply middle of my forehead, the bridge of my nose, under my eyes, my cheeks, chin and the inner corners of my nose. I blend all this thoroughly.

JLo Makeup Transformation

Jlo's Makeup is a lot about that golden bronze glow on the cheeks. To get JLo's makeup look, I took a bronze contour powder and to achieve that glow I used a stroke cream and a shimmer highlighter powder by urban decay.

Taylor Swift Makeup Transformation

Taylor Swift Makeup was about that classic look with red lips, nothing to difficult to do, You just needed red lips and a winged eyeliner.

Makeup & Hair – Jungle Photoshoot

Hey, Bella's, so not only I am a nail artist, but I do makeup and hair as well. I took part in this fantastic Jungle photoshoot with two photographers called RR Photographic.  I usually do makeup and hair for some of their models. So they always have exciting photoshoots which I love to get involved. So for this project, they came up with this jungle idea and using these red gel lights in the background. And Wow! The result is breathtaking.

So, let's get onto the makeup and hair, and I will explain a bit of what I did, I am not going to get too in-depth though.

Hair Curls

The first thing I do on any model is her hair because if I need to curl up her hair, I can roll up in heat curls and let it sit for an hour while I do the models makeup. So, her hair was already all in curls and messy, so I just curled a bit more and tidied some bits here and there with my straighter.

I went for a smokey eyeshadow look, making her eyes quite dark and included a wing eyeliner giving her eyes more definition. I then moved on to her contour; I watched a youtube video from gloss makeup artist, where he shows a different technique on how to apply contour and highlighter. You know the standard way where you first apply foundation and after highlight and contour? Well, he showed the other way around, he contoured and highlighted first and after he used the foundation. So, I tried it and damn! Look at her gorgeous cheekbones.  The key is when it comes to the foundation part, pat in the product so your contour and highlighter won't move around.

I moved to her eyebrows by filling them in, finished off under her eyes, by adding a bit of brown and black eyeshadow, and finished off with adding eyelash extensions.

With her lips, I chose a more natural colour, like beige as I wanted the makeup to be more focused on her eyes rather than her lips, I finished off by adding power contour and highlighter to lock the product from moving.  Lastly, I set her makeup with setting spray by Mac cosmetics.

Thanks, Bella's, for popping in, I know I didn't go into too much depth on the makeup, but that's because I didn't prepare this for a blog post. I think in nearer future I will go more into depth and include a step by step on the makeup looks I create. I'm still new to all this blogging, but with time I will get better. Swatches – Bluesky Gel Polish Pastel Neon Collection

Hey Bellas, it’s summer over here in the UK and oh my gosh this weather is insane, it’s 28 degrees outside!! Yep! It gets that hot over here sometimes. So, since I'm going to take advantage of wearing my cute flip flops, my toenails need to be pretty. But I’m not sure what colour to have on. I was going through my gel polishes, and I have this summer pastel neon collection by Bluesky, and I thought I could do a swatch of all the colours for you all along the way while I decide what colour to pick.

So, for those that hadn't heard about this brand before or haven't tried it, let me explain a bit of what it is. So this Bluesky gel polish falls more on the shellac brand, as its 1 part gel and 1 part nail polish. If you want to know more on the difference between shellac and gel polish, click here. So the consistency is thinner. So for this neon pastel collection, the description on their website states that because of how light the colours are you have to apply 3-4 coats of gel polish to get the full coverage. 3-4 coats? Anyway, let’s see how the swatches go and stay till the end to read my thoughts on this gel polish collection and what colour I picked.

1.Pastel Neon Collection - Pink PN01

This colour is such a beautiful pink, I would wear this all right the year, even in winter. If you haven't already guessed pink is my favourite colour.

2. Pastel Neon Collection Gel Polish = Yellow PN02

Yellow, even though yellow is the colour of the sun, it doesn’t seem to be many peoples favourite chose to have on their nails, but I think its a pretty shade, esp for one that has like olive, dark skin, as it would make the yellow pop out.

3.Pastel Neon Collection Gel Polish = Blue PN03

Blue, I found this gel pigmented as it only needed two coats. This colour is perfect for the summer, beach, summer holiday etc.

4. Pastel Neon Collection Gel Polish = Purple PN04

This purple was another colour that only needed two coats; I like this colour, I’m not much of a purple person though, but surely some clients would adore this shade.

5.Pastel Neon Collection Gel Polish = Green PN05

This green is another colour people tend not really to pick, but its still a pretty shade, This would be perfect for creating leaves.

6. Pastel Neon Collection Gel Polish = Peachy PN06

Last but not least, this beautiful peachy colour, if you not a fan of pink, and you have a wedding to go to and you need something cute and natural, think this colour would be a choice.

So, when applying these colours, I found they were quite easy, if I were to compare to the more thick gels like gel II and gelish, None of these colours needed four coats, the blue and purple only needed two layers to get the full coverage while the other colours just required 3 coats. What I liked that It didn’t shrink and you sometimes know with gel, you get those moments when your gel has not cured thoroughly as soon as your client takes her hand out of the lamp and the gel polish creased? I learnt that this means you applied a lot of product so it can't cure right through, but since Bluesky gel polish is thinner this doesn't happen.

I like this Pastel Neon collection by Bluesky; it has such beautiful colours but the fact it needs three coats to get the full coverage put me off a bit as clients want a fast service esp if you are working at a salon.
